Jo Lashley Equestrian
PRINCESS SPIKKEL (Spikkel)
Spikkel is owned by Jo Lashley who bought her from Tim Warren in 2004 whilst working for Warren Equestrian.
Jo started eventing her at the end of that year and during her stint in Eventing she won two intro's, and three pre-novices.
She moved up to BE Novice in 2006 but, unfortunately, didn't really enjoy galloping over the bigger tracks, so, in 2008, Jo decided to concentrate Spikkel solely on Dressage.
To date she has competed at approximately 12 British Dressage Regional Final Competitions, from Novice to Prix St George level, and has been placed in the top 11 in every one.
2007 - Placed 6th at the Winter Regional's and 8th in the Summer Regional's at Novice level and upgraded to Elementary.
2008 - placed 5th at the Winter Regionals qualifying for the Winter Championships at Elementary Level, and then placed 5th at the Championships. Also, upgraded to Medium. Competed at the Summer Regionals at Elementary level and placed 11th.
2009 - Upgraded to Advanced Medium and then won at Burrows Court: a fantastic achievement considering that it was only her second attempt at that level! PLaced 3 rd at the Summer Regional's at at Medium Level. Upgraded to Advanced.
2010 - WON the X Factor Dressage to Music charity event at Hand Equestrian Centre. WON the Advanced Medium at the Petplan Area Festival. Competed in first Freestyle to music class at Advanced Medium level.
2011 - placed 10th in the Advanced Medium and 7th in the Freestyle to Music Advanced Medium at the Winter Regional's. 6th in the Freestyle to Music Advanced Medium at the Winter Championships. 8th in the Advanced Medium at the Summer Regional's. Upgraded to Prix St George and competed in first Fresstyle to Music PSG.
2012 - Winter Regional's 10th in the Freestyle to Music Advanced Medium, 9th in the Advanced Medium, 9th in the Freestyle Prix St George. Competed at the Winter Championships in both the Freestyle Advanced Medium and the Advanced Medium.
2013 - Sarah Cheetham rode Spikkel at the Winter Regionals, in the Freestyle to music Prix st George and was placed 8th
She then had a break from competing from Febuary 2013 - July 2014, whilst Jo adapted to her new lifestyle with the twins.
In July of this year, returning for their first competition for a while, the pair WON the PYO Prix St George Class and, the following week, went on to be placed 3rd in a Prix St George; thus gaining sufficient percentages to qualify for an Area Festival.
In July 2014, returnIn July 2014, returning for their first competition for a while, the pair WON and was placed 3rd in a Prix St George; thus gaining sufficient percentages to qualify for an Area Festival.
Jo then competed at The Area Festival at Kingston Maurward and was placed 4th.
She went on to gain two more qualifying sheets which allowed her to compete in another Area Festival, in an attempt to gain qualification for The Winter Championships in April 2015.
The 2nd Area Festival was at Duchy College, where she was placed 2nd with a percentage of 67.7%, which was good enough to qualify her for The Championships.
In Febuary 2015 Jo and Spikkel competed in a FSM PSG, their first one since April 2012. She won it with 71.1%, which gives them qualification for The PSG Freestyle to Music Regional's early 2016.
Since then they have had a couple more wins, one of which was a PSG Q, gaining their best % to date at that level, of
70 %. This meant they now have qualification for the Summer Regionals 2015 at PSG level.
In February, the pair also competed in their first Intermediate I test, in a PYO.
In April 2015, they competed in the Area Festival Championships at the Winter Champs, Hartpury.
They made a few 'expensive' mistakes, due to tension, but overall Jo was pleased with their test.
In July the pair competed at their first Premier League.
Jo managed to achieve her aim for 2015 by gaining sufficient scores to qualify for some Area Festivals later in the year at Intermediate I level. Towards the end of 2015 they competed at two Area Festivals and managed to gain 6th and 5th place, with promising percentages.
2016...........................the story so far!!
